Meaningful Beauty skin care products will help you fight off the ravages of skin aging due to the loss of collagen. Collagen is a type of body protein that keeps skin supple and strong. There are two ways we lose collagen as the years go by – intrinsic aging in which production of collagen naturally slows as we get older, and extrinsic aging in which collagen is lost because of factors such as overexposure to the sun, gravity and sleeping positions. This sophisticated European anti-aging skin care system can help diminish the visible signs of aging using a powerful antioxidant ingredient called superoxide dismutase as well as coenzyme Q10 and lipoic acid that restores your skin’s youthful glow.

The Meaningful Beauty skin care line consists of five categories of products, which correspond to the five steps of a healthy skin maintenance and anti-aging regimen.

Cleansing. The first step to get glowing skin is to keep it clean. The skin softening cleanser is specially formulated to clean your skin without stripping it of essential oils, leaving your complexion clean and healthy.

Protect. Defend your skin against the daily wear and tear caused by environmental factors such as UV rays and pollution with the Antioxidant Day Crème. Formulated to have an SPF of 20 for maximum protection against UV rays, it can also shield your skin against UV A and B damage while maintaining healthy moisture levels.

Repair. These products repair the damage caused by aging while providing your skin with the nourishment it needs to boost collagen production. Use the Anti-aging Night Crème at bedtime to revitalize your skin while you sleep and the Lifting Eye Crème to improve the appearance of unsightly crow’s feet, puffiness and dark circles while moisturizing and refreshing tired eyes.

Revitalize. Give yourself a more youthful-looking complexion by improving skin firmness and evening out skin tone. The Firming Chest and Neck Crème revitalizes the skin in these oft-neglected areas using vital antioxidants and lush emollients that will give you glowing skin while evening out uneven skin tone, while the Glowing Serum encourages the growth of new, healthy skin cells to help restore your complexion’s youthful vitality. And you can complete your revitalizing regimen with Wrinkle Smoothing Capsules.

Purify. The Deep Cleaning Masque replenishes and revives tired skin by removing dead surface skin cells while infusing skin with antioxidants and marine products that revives stressed-out skin. And this “facial-in-a-bottle” can provide results in as little as twenty minutes.

Using Meaningful Beauty skin care products can remove ten years or more from your appearance, just like product user supermodel Cindy Crawford, whose use of the system ensures that she looks exactly the same at 45 as she did when she was 28. And depending on how serious the damage is, you can look more youthful in as little as thirty days, and enjoy the maximum results in sixty days. Meaningful Beauty will give you younger looking skin, not just on your face, but all over while restoring your youthful aura.

About 4 out of 10 adults worldwide have suffered from the embarrassing experience of acne breakout. While many people accepted acne breakout as the threshold to adulthood, occurrence of acne among newborns is something that most people are not aware of. How can it happen to newborn babies? Why does baby acne occur?

Baby acne otherwise called as neonatal acne is a skin problem affecting about 20% of newborn babies worldwide. Usually characterized by red bumps that highly resemble adult pimples, neonatal acne appears on the cheeks, nose, chin, and on the baby’s forehead about 2-3 weeks after delivery.

5 Common Causes of Baby Acne

There are several reasons for acne breakout among newborn babies. Some reasons are already present at birth while others were developed upon exposure to outside dirt and chemicals. Listed are some of the causes of neonatal acne:

Neonatal acne is passed to the baby even before delivery. Some theories on the origin of neonatal acne claim that during pregnancy, the mother’s hormones seep through the placenta affecting the sebaceous glands thus triggering acne breakout.

Unhealthy diet during pregnancy. The more fatty the mother’s diet is the more risks for the baby of being infected with neonatal acne.

After delivery, the baby is still at risk of neonatal acne by hormonal transfusion through breastfeeding.

Using harsh ingredients when cleaning the baby. There are also cases of neonatal acne appearance due to using rough cloth when bathing the baby. Always keep in mind that babies have very sensitive skin that even the lightest scrub can cause rashes.

Washing baby clothes with strong detergents. While it is important to maintain hygiene when washing used clothes, be mindful of using fabric softener to minimize the harsh odor and texture of the clothes.

Acne breakout symptoms can appear as early as two weeks after birth. Most acne breakout lasts for 6 weeks then automatically fades on its own. Other neonatal acne last for 12 weeks fading but reappearing constantly. So if neonatal acne on your baby does not heal on its own, what options can you take?

Baby Acne: Treatment Options

While it is always best to wait for the neonatal acne to fade naturally, if you notice the persistent red bumps not going away even after weeks, try these natural methods of treating neonatal acne:

In bathing the baby, use baby wash and shampoo that contain herbal ingredients. This way, your baby’s skin is protected from harsh bathing solutions.

Wash the baby’s clothes with mild detergent soap. As much as possible do not soak the clothes in detergent solution for more that 15 minutes.

If you are breastfeeding, make the extra effort in picking a nutritious diet for your baby.

Ask for a prescription from your dermatologist. Several mild creams are effective in treating neonatal acne within 2 weeks. Do not buy over the counter medicine without consulting your doctor first.

The appearance of these red marks would certainly alarm parents. However, equipped with the right information, any parent can combat baby acne by treating and preventing it from coming back.

Acne is one of the most common skin problems there is. It can affect people regardless of age, sex, and race. In most cases, it first appears during the teenage years. But while most teenagers outgrow this skin condition, some adults just don’t get rid of it—hence, the term adult acne. But what is adult acne? How is it any different from your regular teenage acne? And how do you address this condition? Here are some of the answers to these questions.

Adult acne usually starts out as blackheads, which are a combination of sebum (the oil produced by the sebaceous glands) and dirt. Blackheads tend to clog the pores and mix with bacteria from the outside. When the blackheads are inflamed, they produce swollen red pimples. And when these pimples are infected, they produce pustule-filled whiteheads. When the whiteheads become irritated, they can cause unwanted scarring.

Some people attribute acne solely to bad hygiene but it’s not the only reason. Acne is caused by one or more of the following factors: stress, hormonal imbalance, and infection. The first two factors cause the sebaceous glands to secrete too much oil. On the other hand, an infection can cause the spread of bacteria in the face which further aggravates the condition. Bad makeup—especially those which contain comedogenic products—can also contribute to an acne outbreak.

Adult acne is a bit more complicated than teenage acne. Most acne solutions available in the market are made for teenagers with oily skin, in contrast to adults with drier skin. Thus, it wouldn’t be advisable for adults to make use of solutions geared towards teenagers as that would only make their skin drier. Finding the right solution involves a bit of trial-and-error, but in the meantime, here are some of the things that you can do to at least alleviate your skin condition:

Make use of topical treatments. Over-the-counter topical treatments like creams, gels, and lotions are all available in your local pharmacy. For mild to moderate cases of acne, pick a solution which combines benzoyl peroxide with an antimicrobial. For those who are afflicted with blackheads and bumps in the skin, use a topical retinoid.

Take oral medications. If topical treatments don’t work for you, you might want to resort to oral medications instead. For acne caused by hormonal fluctuations, you can take treatments like oral contraceptives and hormone replacement therapy. However, these medications are not appropriate for every woman so before taking anything, consult your doctor first.

Wash your face every day. Wash your face with a mild cleanser everyday to get rid of the dirt in your pores. However, be careful not to overdo it lest you want to make your skin drier. Also, avoid scrubbing your face vigorously so as not to irritate your pores.

Consult your dermatologist. If none of the above mentioned treatments can rid you of your acne, consult a dermatologist already. A dermatologist will know what kind of treatment solution would work best for you.

Everyone thrives for clear beautiful skin. Spots on our skin can change our own perspective on our own self-esteem. This is due to the fact that spots are quite unsightly. Your skin is the first thing people notice when meeting; we want to do whatever we can to remove the spots as fast as possible. So be ready to go anywhere and be naturally beautiful as well as confident before walking out that door. But how do we get rid of spots? Here are some ways you can diminish the appearance of spots on your skin or rid of them altogether.

Prophylactic care on your skin is vital in keeping your skin staying clear and looking fresh. Prevention is always our number one weapon against spots, acne, wrinkles, etc. You can prevent your skin from getting spots by keeping your skin clean, maintaining a healthy diet, and maintaining an overall state of well-being.

Keeping your skin clean is important. Cleansing your face twice daily is highly recommended. Staying away from makeup and keeping your face clear of hair are great ways of minimizing toxins from touching your skin. Simple things such as frequent washing of towels, clothes, bed sheets, and pillowcases help to keep your skin away from germs, toxins, and bacteria. When drying your face after cleansing, pat your face dry instead of rubbing the towel over your skin. Rubbing your skin after cleansing can be irritating to your skin and the towel may have germs and bacteria you most likely don’t want to rub your face into. Make sure your hands are clean throughout the day! Or keep yourself from touching your own face. Our hands may collect toxins, dirt, bacteria, etc as our hands are so frequently used in our daily activities. Touching your face will transfer these toxins onto your face as soon as your face comes in contact with your hands. Making these minor changes into a life habit are good ways of preventing not just spots on your skin but acne as well.

Diet is essential in the well-being of your skin and health. Drink plenty of water throughout the day. Water will flush out toxins from your body while keeping your body and skin hydrated. When the body is fully hydrated, your skin will be less likely to produce oils. This will lessen your break outs and minimize the occurrence of spots on your skin. Certain foods and products we ingest are highly correlated with accelerated acne. Stay away from greasy foods and foods that are high in saturated fat and/or sugar. Excessive sugar increases insulin levels within the body. This can affect the hormones from within your body which in turn can cause breakouts on your skin. Remember! Diet is not important just for your health, diet is also crucial in keeping your skin clear.

Already got that spot on your face you want to get rid of? Here is how to get rid of spots from your skin or how you can reduce the appearance of spots on your skin.

Toothpaste – Great home remedy that many use as spot treatment. Toothpaste has an ability to draw out impurities from your skin. Do make sure that the toothpaste being used contains ingredients that assist in eliminating acne. Toothpaste should have alcohol and menthol as ingredients; others may make your skin worse due to further irritation. Apply a small amount of toothpaste over the spot and let it sit overnight. Cleanse in the morning and you will see that the spot is less noticeable.

Tea tree oil – Tea tree oil acts as an antiseptic and assists in drying out spots. Try adding few drops of tea tree oil into lukewarm water and use the water to wash your face twice daily (morning and night).

These are some remedies you can concoct at the comfort of your own home to help get rid of those spots off your face. But as stated earlier, prevention and overall well-being are the biggest factors to keeping your skin clear and free of spots. Stress is a huge cause of distress on your skin as well. Take care of your body and state of mind. These factors alone will help you get that clear skin you always hoped for. Spots on your face are not something you can get rid of overnight. Be consistent, persistent, and patient. You will overcome the spots on your face and get closer to that flawless skin we all thrive for.

First Step: Cleansing of your skin is the first thing you do when you start your skin care routine. Picking out the right cleanser for your skin type is of great importance in this step of your regimen. All cleansers should be free of fragrance and gentle on your skin. Choose a cleanser that doesn’t make your skin feel tight. Tight skin is a result of using products that may be too strong for your skin. When you find that cleanser your skin responds great to, stick with it. Because there are different skin types to compliment, you must be aware of what type of cleanser will be of advantage for you.

Second Step: Finding a good toner will be of great assistance in getting you better skin. Toner should be applied after cleansing and patting your skin dry. A good toner will clear your skin of leftover dirt, makeup, oil, chemicals and minerals that may have been left behind after cleansing your skin. Toning your face after cleansing balances the pH of your skin and helps to minimize your pores.

Third Step: Moisturizing is key to keeping your skin looking young and dewy. The amount or kind of moisturizer may differ between many individuals due to skin type. However, some sort of moisturizing is recommended for all skin types. Moisturizers assist your skin with sealing in essential components and moisture, preventing them from leaving your skin. As it seals in moisture, moisturizers act as a barrier against airborne toxins, pollutants, bacteria, etc. During the day, a moisturizer with sun protection is extremely important! The sun’s damaging UV rays can speed up the aging process of your skin which in turn will give you premature wrinkles. A minimum of SPF 15 is recommended for daily moisturizing. Night time moisturizing is not always necessary (depending on your skin type). However, when your skin is at rest, your skin is also under repair. A hydrating moisturizer or cream is recommended for this step when going through your skin care routine nightly.

Fourth Step: Exfoliation is great for keeping your skin radiant and smooth. Exfoliation is important because it clears off dead skin cells revealing healthy skin cells. This process results in younger looking skin under the surface. Exfoliating 2-3 times a week is recommended as excessive exfoliation results in dry and irritated skin. When it comes to this step, moderation is key!

These are the 4 basic steps I recommend in your skin care routine. Many variations can be brought out of this regimen due to different types of skin. Come back soon! I will shortly post another article on what type of products you can look for depending on your skin type.

Skin Type 1 – Normal Skin

Out of the 5 different skin types, normal skin is the skin type most people wish they were born with (me included)! Normal skin displays an overall even tone and has an almost perfect combination of both oil and moisture. Pores tend to be minimally visible to the eye and the skin has good elasticity. Normal skin doesn’t tend to be dry or oily and portrays a healthy, clean, and clear complexion.

Skin Type 2 – Dry Skin

Dry skin is a common skin type that many people suffer from. Dry skin is thin and does not retain moisture well. Due to the lack of moisture, people with dry skin are more susceptible to fine lines and wrinkles. This condition tends to leave your skin feeling stiff and/or tight. Dry skin is fragile and sensitive to weather as well. The winter days will cause your already dry skin into becoming even dryer skin. This is evidenced through cold days causing your skin to flake and sometimes peel off. It may also commonly leave you with a reddish complexion.

Skin Type 3 – Oily Skin

Oily skin is most common during adolescent years. People with oily skin tend to have enlarged pores which produce excessive oil. This in turn causes the skin to look shiny and greasy. People with oily skin tend to develop more blemishes, pimples, and blackheads. Dead skin cells don’t shed off the skin too easily and leaves your skin looking plump.

Skin Type 4 – Combination Skin

Combination skin can be tricky. This skin type is usually characterized with a mix of both oily and dry skin. The t-zone of the face along with your nose, chin, and forehead tend to be oily while your cheeks stay dry. Due to the conditions of specific regions, treatment should be carefully strategized to treat all areas.

Skin Type 5 – Sensitive Skin

Sensitive skin is the most fragile of all skin types. Sensitive skin tends to burn and irritate with ease. It is common for sensitive skin to turn red due to irritation. Products must be carefully chosen and one must be mindful of the chemicals and ingredients used in the products before application.

These are a total of 5 different skin types that most people fall under. If you don’t fall under these categories, I advise you to consult a dermatologist. Special care and professional advice will help you with a possible condition you may have and lead you to the beautiful skin everyone deserves!
